If someone responds yes to your message asking if their phone number was the same, does that mean you could text or call them?

As opposed to what, lying? Ghosting? Maybe some people just aren't liars and ghosters.

I understand that but I left out that I followed up and asked if I could text them and they didn't respond. Technically, they did ghost.

So there's your answer. Yes it is their same number if you need it for whatever reason, And no they do not want you to be texting them for other reason and something necessary

I asked them if their phone number was the same and they said yes. I followed up by asking if I could text them and got no response. To me it makes no sense to confirm your number if you didn't want me to contact you in the first place
