No.

Some don't know they are good looking and will think they can't get the hot girls.

Some good lookers only have the looks and have for a myriad of reasons missed out on the social skills that enable their looks to be of use.

Some are gay or otherwise.

Some used to be ugly and have gotten used to looking for character rather than superficial stuff.

Some are tired of hot girls with little to no character or empathy and will think see that average looks with attractive minds are the true hot ones.

I would say no though guys go first for the pretty women because that's something guys are attracted by. But that doesn't mean it's all a guy looks for. Since there is a certain level of beauty that's subjective. I would say guys that the women they can easily get to know and share interests with.

When you say "date", you need to make things clear. Do we mean "casually date" or do we mean "serious relationship", because the answers will be very different.

You also have to clarify if all you're talking about is men who are good-looking - meaning, are you talking about guys who are good-looking, but are not especially successful in their career - perhaps still living at home - and maybe don't have a great personality, or are you talking about the guys who have it all? Good looks AND good social skills AND status AND financially successful? The latter is incredibly rare, incredibly highly in demand, and can get pretty much anything they want in a woman - or even multiple women.

Those 1% guys who have it all will generally only seriously date the most beautiful women, because status tends to be important to them - but they'll sleep with women who are average or better looking if they can get easy sex from them. They have the leverage to do so, and nearly all of them take full advantage of that.

For guys who are good-looking but don't really have the other things, or at least, not in abundance, some will be shallow and only choose super beautiful women, but others will prioritize the other things that men want: youth, feminine, all-natural, cooperative, submissive, and family-oriented - even at the expense of beauty. They probably won't date a troll, of course, but they aren't going to hold out for a supermodel or leading actress type - they will be fine with a 6 or 7 out of 10 in beauty to get the other things they want.

But they aren't kidding about those other things - they're less likely to seriously commit right away, because they want to vet that woman over time and make sure she really is all of those other things, and not just faking it for a little while to lock down the guy. And frankly, there aren't that many of this kind of woman around anymore - everything about modern day society does their absolute best to dissuade women from being the things that men desire in a woman - and instead, to become the men that they want to date. The women who are the genuine article get scooped up and are appreciated. The ones who aren't are usually regulated to "for recreational use only."

Not really…  I have had more good looking men date me than I.  Good looking guys are far less judgmental to a woman than the average men are.  Average men chase to the prettiest girls out there.

My family and friends (both guys and girls) always told me privately that my wife is physically quite lower than my "league"..

Some guy friends were like, You had 10/10 women hitting on you , why chose her?

Everyone become conditioned to what they can get... If you have a lot of pretty women hitting on you, then you tend to know you can get pretty women. When you have a lot of options you become more picky. So then you starting wanting pretty women with good personality traits. Finding people with it all, ain't that easy though...

the thing is you can still find people who don't fit the general beauty standards to be very attractive because attraction is complex. So, I have been attracted to men who do not fit the general beauty standards.

I'd say if the guy is over 35 he goes more for internal qualities. Kind, loyal and gives hom respect. Younger men 35 below are mostly weaker and ruled by there sex drive.

Not always. Generally yes, I think the older people get the more they realize looks fade and are superficial. That's when they tend to date more for companionship and personality.

Another reason why I advocate no sex before marriage.
