Women do that too though, it is human nature to gravitate towards someone who looks ‘attractive’ to you the individual. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that person 9/10 will date based upon appearance especially when they know nothing about the person. If you knew the person for a long time, you can find their personality attractive and gravitate that way to eat a nice romantic spaghetti dinner or simply cuddling at a rom com at the movies. Point is, men & women as humans go, do exactly that. They date good looking men/women especially without outside factors involved, just how it is.

A sidenote: The appearance doesn’t even have to be facial features or breast size or whatever, it can be as simple as “woah you wear a shirt of a band/team/tv show I like, want to hang?”(obviously not that basic), what I mean is you might start small talk then get to realize this person might be cool to hang out with sometime (a date for example). Just sayin’, human nature.

I used to a few times when I was younger but then I learned that you have to know the person from the inside because if you don't it's never going to work because that's who they truly are I have known some of the most beautiful girls on the outside but once they open their mouth it's like get away from me beauty comes from the inside just like hate comes from the inside just like ugly comes from the inside but I want to know who that person is before I commit right start dating

I don't think it's only because of looks, but I believe that does matter a lot. I think a guy should feel attracted, and it's important for a woman to do her best with what she has.

That being said, I sometimes feel like the standards of beauty are impossible to achieve because with a few swipes, any guy can have the most beautiful women in the world doing the most erotic things in the world, any time they wish. I'm not ugly or fat or disfigured, but I cannot compete with the internet. I can't compete with women who will do anything in any way that a guy can dream up, as many times as he wants.

But, I also know that not all guys are superficial. So that's why I don't think it's only looks. Important, but not all there is to it.

The thing that women don"t get is that men put women in boxes. They associate with women for different reasons. They observe, identify how they can benfit and game her for that angle. They pretty much never like a woman for her inherent attributes or character. They basically tolerate us talking to them because they can't just plucknusnoff the street, throw us over their shoulders, like a sack of flour, and have sex with us and throw us a way. Many men come close.

Yes, though for me its looks, personality, intellect, talents, and shared hobbies/interests/views. Looks are needed for it to be more than platonic, otherwise even if she meets the rest of the list, she is effectively "just another one of the guys".

Strictly based on looks it's rare but definitely happens. Social media perpetuates it too but I don't think the average guy does.

Having someone who is smart, kind, encouraging, and genuinely cares for you is soooo much more valuable and realistic then a 10 who but is entitled, and or unintelligent.

I am initially drawn to a woman based on a combination of looks and personality. By personality I mean the vibe she gives off, because I can't know her personality until I get to know her anyway.

Looks definitely attracts the person. you can't see ones personality when you first meet them. Which means most "unconventionally unattractive" women will have a harder time dating cause they won't get the chance to show who they truly are inside. So yes men do approach women based on looks, and logically proceed to date them. The other women don't get approached in the first place
