Boyfriend being protective?

So my boyfriend got national game about 4 hours away. He doesn’t want me going unless I have a friend with him or he’d worry about my safety. I’ve never driven that far before and if they lose I’d have to drive back arrive back around 1AM. My female friend is trying to convince me just to go and what not. and she thinks it’s not that deep and that he shouldn’t be worried. is it bad of me to think that this is actually sweet of him? or should i be thinking of it differently?

The distance is less relevant than the location. Baltimore is not the same as San Diego. Yeah, he’s probably being caring and protective. In the end you should decide for yourself but as alone female at 0100 on the Highway you are only one flat tire away from being in a unpleasant situation. Have AAA or at least enough for motorist assistance if you’re not capable of managing any potential hiccups.
