You are never likely to find a spouse if you become so toxic right on the first date.

My first impression of a person that would say something like that to a total stranger is that he is looking for a resident permit in a foreign country or that he is so desperate not to find a compatible person that he needs to be so aggressive on the first date.

That is a total red flag to anyone that is decent and the best way to drive any girl away. You don't seem to want a serious relationship with someone because you don't know anything of that person that you address with such a question.

I wouldn't word it so bluntly. It could come up by you just saying "I'm dating to see if I can find the right one to spend my life with." Just put that ball in her court and let her figure out to reply. But don't say something corny like "Could you be the one?" That could be the last time you see her after that. Frankly, that would be better off asked on the 2nd date. Just see how the first date goes first before getting all out serious.
