I fell for a friend of mine (who was in a relationship at the time). I know he won’t reciprocate my feelings even though he’s been telling me about ending his relationship. I wanted to move on and end the friendship (at least until I’ve moved on) so I decided to confess to him fully prepared to walk away and get rejected.
And then what happened aftet you confessed?
I walked away, he protested saying that we could still be friends but I felt that we were better off with some distance.
Oops I'm sorry , I feel you and I wish you good luck for the future
No worries that was a long time ago, I’m glad I confessed bcs it helped me move on and process my feelings, I’m now happily in a relationship! The friend reached out to me after he broke up saying that he also had feelings for me lol but I’ve moved on, we’ll probably work on our friendship again but I’ll still keep my distance out of respect for my boyfriend
Wow very glad to hear that you're happy and doing great right now!
Maybe I should do the same.. confess to her and walk away
I was thinking about sending a handwrittern letter to her before the military sends me overseas
I definitely think you should! It’ll give yourself a lot of closure and peace so that you won’t be left with all the “what ifs”. The letter is definitely a great idea if you’re not comfortable with doing it face to face
Thanks a lot Anon.. I'll certainly give it a go!
Have a great day
Best of luck to you!!
Generally so, although I really started to like women more when they reciprocated my interest. As a teenager, I sometimes crushed on women from afar who barely said more to me than a "hi" here and there, but as I got older and started dating more, I really started to like women with whom I could have the most enthusiastic conversations where she was clearly as interested in talking to me as I was to her.
Generally so in the sense of giving up and moving on, sorry, in response to the body of the question rather than the title. I wouldn't confess my feelings to a woman who wasn't showing very strong signs that she felt exactly the same way.
If you really like her though, it might worth a shot to casually ask her out in a very easy way. If she does like you back in any shape or form, she might entertain the offer and possibly grow to like you more over the date. A confession just seems a bit too weighted towards an awkward outcome to me.
