Why won't my boyfriend post my face on his social media?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 4 months officially. But talking for longer than that. He has posted me on his story on social media a couple times (just when we're out or when we're hanging out at his house), but he won't post my face, just parts of my body.

Like when we're out at a restaurant, he posts my hands on the table opposite him.

Why does he post me like that? I don't want to ask him out of fear of looking needy or insecure. Why do people not post their boyfriend or girlfriend's faces on their social media?

Hmm girl that is kinda weird he won't post your actual face. A few possiblities:

1. He may not be completely "out" on social media about being in a relationship. Maybe he's not "Facebook official" yet even though you're official IRL.

2. He could be a little insecure himself deep down and doesn't want to be perceived as totally taken yet online. Guys can be weird like that sometimes.

3. Sadly there is a small chance he may be seeing someone else too and doesn't want it to be too obvious to others he has a girlfriend. I hope that's not the case!

My advice - don't come at him accusatory but maybe have a casual convo. Say something like "I was just wondering babe, is there a reason you don't post pics of us together on your feed? It'd be cute to show us off!" See how he reacts. His response should give you more clues on his thinking. If he's shady or makes excuses, then I'd start questioning things more sis. But hopefully it's one of the less serious reasons! Keep me posted on what you find out.

The usual answer is that there is someone else who he doesn't want to learn about you.

Some people do it because it gives them the attention they crave. Not posting your face possibly makes people curious about who you are. Therefore giving the poster the attention they are seeking. If this even makes sense.

If you truly want to know, maybe it is best to ask him. Maybe he thinks you aren’t comfortable having your photo posted. Or you could maybe take a photo and say hey babe want to post this photos on both of our socials on on main feed and see how he reacts.
