Boyfriend said something hurtful?

Me and my boyfriend had a fight and he said “Now I know that I should go on a date with someone first so I can get to know their personality” it deeply hurt my feelings. Am I over reacting to this?

If you didn't have dates before ending up in a relationship, then it's understandable in a heat of moment to say something like that. With that said, the line states something is wrong with your personality and you have a valid reason to get upset. However, in any given relationship there are ups and downs, sometimes really hurtful things are said which makes you very upset, but if there is love and commitment, one will get over it as well.

Give it a few hours or day so both can cool off and then talk to him about it. If you didn't feel in the moment it was hurtful then don't make such a thing about it based on our comments and instead have a calm and respectful conversation about the fight and your opinions and solve whatever argument you are having.

Then learn from the truth but also acknowledge that he was trying to hurt you with it. Thus best to eject that from your life. He could have communicated the same with love.

If what he said there is the actual truth, it's eh... a good observation on his part. I always try to really get to know a person before getting together if I can. We have no context we don't know what the fight was about, but he said it to hurt you. I hope you both get over this.

Truth comes out through anger. He probably feels guilty. But in the grand scheme of things of all the things he could have said that was pretty mild. You both need to be more open. If something bothers you with each other air it out before it comes out during a heated discussion.

I don't think so, anyone would feel hurt. To me, it would be like saying "If I had known you were like this, I wouldn't have gone out with you," but that's just my opinion. It also matters what caused the argument.
