Do men who are attracted to much older women have mommys issues?

Like a 24 year old who's into women in their 40s or older. I always see people say women who are into older men have daddy's issues but never see younger men being judged for being into older women

Hahaha… No, I don't think so. It implies that they all have insecurities because of toxicity or other inappropriate associations with their moms, which just isn't the case with most of those guys.


Some guys are a little more mature and have "weighty" personalities or what my gran used to call "an old soul." Those guys are just nice to be around if you're a lady and don't like to deal with bs or drama. They aim to protect and help and generally be there for you — and the sex… you can use your imagination. The thing is that in the successful, long-lasting younger-guy-older-gal pairings I've seen, the woman is also "a younger soul" and is able to find more things in coomcommon with younger guys than with older guys.


Having said this, I have had to coach a few guys away from the concept of dating an older woman. They're not mature enough and while they are just fed up of the drama of younger woman who want the moon in a hat served on their nightstand… they're not prepared to satisfy an actual woman who has lived a bit more.


It's the combination of know-how (or experience) and personal character that basically helps a woman see if a younger guy is for her.

I usually tend to think it's just the "older woman who's more mature & experienced" fantasy. Its pretty common for younger men to have that type of fantasy. I never think someone has mommy or daddy issues though. They just like older men or women.

I am 47 and I have had 40 + year old women, who go online to hook up with younger men just for sex without strings attached. Dispose of them, and after a month or two she feels horny again... and goes back online and finds another young buck more than willing to provide what she wants. No strings attached.

Mummy issues aren't as common with men, that's why you don't see them getting scrutinised as often. Men are more likely to be absent from the kid's life (since you know, the woman kinda has to be around for those first 9 months. The man could be absent completely), which leads to people trying to replace their paternal figures. This is especially common in women too, since father daughter relationships become pretty disconnected when the teen years set in.

If he's trying to date an older woman, it's likely because she can cook, clean and provide. There's usually mummy issues to account for it

Yeah, I made it clear I was generalising. You know, by saying words like 'more likely', 'usually' and 'especially common'. I didn't want to write an essay and elaborate exactly the amount of xyz. You gotta generalise to make a point. Of course some women abandon their kids, but I think you and I both know it's more common for men to be absent than women 😭 that's not an opinion.

You can say this rhetoric is misogynistic but it doesn't change the psychological impacts father issues have on the mind. You fill the void with an older man. Let that be a family friend, teacher, brother, uncle, or a sexual partner. It is a real phenomenon, whether you want to believe it or not
