What do you think of the black cat golden retriever metaphor in relationships? What are you, and what would you prefer to be?

I have never heard this before. Basically the black cat is the one being chased, and catered to. The golden retriever is the one chasing, is loyal and devoted to the romantic partner. I realized that I have been the fkn golden retriever my entire life, as a woman it has not worked out for me. It seems like most relationship would be more beneficial if the dude is the golden retriever.

I agree, It works best when the man likes the woman just a little more than she likes him. Women are naturally faithful and loving in relationships but to get a man to be that way, he needs to be “chasing” after her affection long term. To make that work, he has to naturally like her a little more than she likes him. Women who are self proclaimed “btches” understand this and will intentionally mistreat men, in effort to force a version of this dynamic, hoping to make the man work hard for her approval. When it’s forced, it usually doesn’t end well. The man eventually figures out he’s being manipulated by a lady he doesn’t even like, because of her using mind jujitsu on him 🥷

So you can't realize that some level of parity is necessary, and just want someone to do all the work instead of you doing it all?

Relationship regardless are never really fifty fifty. Not so literally the way some explain it. It's each person giving what's needed. It does seem like, when men are in their masculine they want to provide and protect what's theirs. Also, they chase after what they really want. When women feel truly wanted in every way, there's nothing sexier. Women should be the feminine one, she's taken care of, and adored by her man. It's not about equality, but men and women have different strengths and weaknesses. I have yet met a man that makes me feel in my divine femininity.

That's because you're not divine, you're human. And no matter what fancy words you try to gussy it up with, what you're looking for is at best an addict; more likely, a slave. It won't end well.
