Why are personal questions time gated when dating?

When people get to know one another when dating, the whole point is to get to know one another. To exchange bits and pieces of who you are, of your life, of what you love and what you hate.

I am an open book. There's not much I hate more than an unsatisfied curiosity. I am willing to answer any question proposed to me, it has never bothered me.

There isn't any difference between "What is your dream job?" and "What is your deepest fear?" or any other form of personal question.

Why do people guard themselves so? If a date goes good, great. If it doesn't feel right you'll probably never see them again.

I get what you're saying man, but opening up totally right away can freak some girls out early on. Gotta read the room, you know? Even if you're cool answering anything, most folks like to ease into deeper personal stuff.

Girls especially want to feel safe. If a dude is prying super personal questions on the first date, it shows he ain't respecting boundaries. Better to start light, build rapport and trust over time before diving deep. Leave some mystery too - can't dump your whole life story in one night!

Going slow lets them get comfortable. Reveal a bit, see how they respond, then open up more next date if it's flowing. Forced sharing won't feel genuine. Give it space to develop naturally.

I'm with you that curiosity is rad. But people reveal in their own time, feel me? Meet them where they're at, don't force the pace. As long as you connect well and wanna see them again, who cares if you save the super personal stuff for down the line? Just my two cents bro. Read the room - that's the name of the game!
