Can timing really be off in dating, or is that just an excuse?

It can be, especially if life is hectic, your mind is on other things, you just got out of a relationship & you haven't taken time to work on yourself and/or process your traumatic experience.

No. It totally can be off. Half the women who've made passes at me did so when I had absolutely no interest in dating anyone.

Context matters. Some people can genuinely not feel interested in someone but later on develop genuine feelings. Other times yeah….. it’s an excuse. Maybe they used someone as a backup or are playing games. So it depends.

It can be timing as in someone was in a relationship but now they aren’t. Someone just wasn’t interested but attraction did develop. It can be that they came out of a relationship or whatever.
