I personally find the act of mate poaching or seagulling nothing but pitiful. Like seagulls, a man lurking for an opportunity from a taken woman is the same as waiting for a French fry to drop at a McDonald's parking lot. The impression of. "I care, I'm always here for you" is nothing but a strategy to lure. A damsel in distress. Before you know it, the other partner on the other end of this ploy is getting sabotaged and dump trucked. The target is now slowing easing into a safe zone with the poacher. Finally after grouling wasted time and energy.. the banana peel (Oops, I just happened) has reared it's ugly head.

example, you are at a club a guy in your group chats up a girl, she gets relaxed, he buys her drinks, chats to her, much later on you ask her to dance, while dancing you chat to her and ask her if she wants to leave and go some place else. She says yes, you both leave, the original guy is sitting there confused and quite a few quid short from buying drinks.

Someone has to do the groundwork.
