Two days ago I grab the courage to talk to this cute guy who always says hi to me in my work (he's my coworker' friend)

Yesterday we talked all the afternoon then he went home and we continue to chat till midnight

We already follow each other on ig, he already added me to his close friends and even invited me to join his discord server (where my coworker is)

Things are looking good for now, we are hitting as casual as friends and he at least seems interested in engaging with me too

But I'm not confident enough to keep this up because it's the first time I'm making the first move... and I'm afraid of messing things up

Also, I'm not sure if I wanna take things further, it's true that I'm interested in him but I have never dating anyone in my life

So... was this a good idea?

STOP OVERTHINKING!
First, he clearly appreciates talking with you, and finds you interesting / someone worth spending his time chatting to, as he went out of the way to add you to his Discord server, and obtained your instagram so he COULD remain in contact and get to know you more.

Second, do NOT stress about moving things forward, making the first move, etc. BEST way is to get to know HIM as a friend first, learn about everything from his likes and interests, to his traditions, cultural beliefs, etc. and THEN assess if he is someone who is "right" for you to date, or just keep as a friendship.

Third, be yourself. If you are not sure you WANT to progress things, then do not until YOU are comfortable. You can absolutely keep him in the loop with how you are feeling too. Like if he asks
Do you see me more than just a friend?" or "I'm starting to like you" you can absolutely set the tone, and inform "I do have interest in possibly pursuing something with you, but I am focused on getting to know you more as a friendship, before proceeding to date"

If you have disclosed your feelings to him already, let him know you'd like to continue and move slowly, building the relationship up, but focusing on friendship side for the time being, until you feel more comfortable together.

When you say you’re not confident enough to keep this up, does that mean you are the one initiating everything or mainly pursuing? Because if that’s the case then I don’t blame you for feeling this way, you don’t want to feel like you’re chasing someone and it’s not mutual effort. But if he is doing his part, then I don’t think there’s a reason for you to worry. There’s always a chance for things to get messed up whether it’s on your behalf or his, but that just comes with dating. Same as getting into a relationship, there’s always a chance it won’t work out, but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try.

Yes it’s a good idea and you really don’t know until times goes on. This is why you date… You’re still testing compatibility and if you’re not compatible it’s not personal. I know some people make it that way but that’s on them.

If you wanna go on a date. Go get coffee. See how it goes. Tell him how you feel as well. Just see how things go. If it isn’t for you or you need time to think. Okay… But try a date. See how it goes.
