I caught my boyfriend in a pretty big lie should I confront him or keep it as an ace in my pocket?

My boyfriend of 2.5 years has to fly to TN every other week and I usually see him when he arrives home on Sunday eve. Today he gave me a late time and I checked the schedule, his flight time doesn't exist. This is the 2nd time I caught him in a lie in 2.5 years. He doesn't know I can easily google his airline and all the flights for the day come up. I checked it a few times when I was picking him up at the airport that's how I know about it. Should I confront the lie now or keep it as an ace in my pocket or just find an honest boyfriend.

Bring it up now. But don’t come off as overly confrontational first. Simply ask about it saying “oh hey, did you get the times wrong because I checked the airport schedule and noticed there’s no flight time you mentioned? Just making sure you’re traveling safe!” Saying it like that is calling him out without necessarily accusing. Wait to see what he says and if he still says the same, screenshot and send as receipts — which he can’t hide away from that. But “Keeping it as an ace in your pocket” is the worst thing to do personally. Because if you wait until days, weeks or months later to bring that up, he can easily say “if you had an issue that second, why wait until months later?”… and possibly switch it back onto you. This is your boyfriend for over 2 years, you both have open communication. But to answer your question, bring it up.

And then if he lies about that? I passed his house at 715, he was home. He Said his flight arrived at 930. I don't believe he even went this weekend he just didn't want to see me or had other obligations. But easier to just lie I guess. I'm furious

If he lies about that being like “oh the flight time is still (whatever time he first said)”, I would screenshot the flight times, send it and say “are you sure?”. Me personally, I let people tell on themselves when it comes to lies. From my past and the times I accused people, I was gaslit and then people try to switch it back onto me (when I knew I was not going crazy). I always try to play cool, calm and collected when asking questions — which in turn, people start to tell on themselves. (But that is just from my experiences). Does he live alone?

That's a great strategy I'm going to use it tomorrow. He's avoiding me all day because he's lying. Sucks and it's disrespectful and avoidant.

Hope it works out! But if he’s being avoidant, I would check in being on “hey, is everything okay? I noticed since your flight, you seem a bit avoidant or distant? I’m here if you want to talk.” 😊. And yeah I’m not exactly sure why he had to lie about his flight time, def sounds a bit suspicious.
