Ladies of GAG, which kind of date would you prefer, Complicated and expensive, or cheap, cozy, and simple?

My wife says she prefers the second. She likes the first but not near as much as being able to sit somewhere and just cuddle and talk while we enjoy the ambience.

I a a simple person and I like simple things more than expensive things.

If I had to choose between an expensive restaurant to eat at, or my neighborhood old fashioned coffee shop, I always pick the coffee shop! They serve old fashioned food and they pile it on your plate.
Not like expensive restaurants that give you a steak that you can only get four little bites. A few strips of asparagus that isn't even cooked all the way, and a very small baked potato.
I would call that the child's meal.

Not “cheap” but not “complicated.” Like not pizza at Costco (don’t laugh, apparently it’s all the rage amongst youngsters now) but not a reservation to fly to the moon and back.


A good date let’s you get to know the person, share stories, lay out a little groundwork for intimacy later on. If a guy gets too glitzy he’s compensating for something (red red flag). If a guy is too cheap it may kill the potential for romance down the line.

I like both. At first I want them to impress me by taking me out somewhere nice and had planning to it. After I like the cozyindoor dates like watching a movie and cuddling. Picnics too is an example.
