I'm just about to finish uni. I've been lonely here years. I have a best friend & some other close friends. but I've still felt very lonely at times. been told it gets harder when in your late 20s especially 30s! want to meet a good man but he's probably already snapped up by now. I'm probably not going to meet a decent man at a club or a pub to be honest and there's no rule book and how to meet men after this.
I've been dumped twice and was in a relationship that lasted 6 m, single for another year then I had another boyfriend a month then I got dumped again from what i can gather they didn't think we were compatible ) . I've been single for over a year now.
It's sad really because I went out a lot hoping I meet somebody and now I'm retuning home single how am I going to make friends back home in my hometown which has got like 14,000 people. I can't afford to live on my own so il be with family. I feel like I'm going backwards, not forwards.
its been so limiting! I felt super sad because I had to go to clubs with friends and I never slept with random people but I did hope one day I would just meet a nice man! and it hasn't happened I'm really worried. I worry my life's going to go back to what it was before - i I had no friends. not close to anybody back home, from high school (they were mean!) . i don't even have friends in my hometown. although my best friend and others want to stay in touch and meet up- but they live miles away. It won't be the same.
my town back home has quite a rough element (im no snob but i dont want to date a guy who swears and swigs stella around town thank you ). Please don’t say use dating apps. have in the past, long story they don’t work, tried many different ones.
"oh you'll meet someone" I'm 28 soon s. its hard. i won't just have a relationship for the sake of it either. then we would have to probably date for a while. that takes time..
I'm upset. If you have any advice or thoughts id appreciate it.
