Ended up dating for 8 years and obviously fell for her along the line. Never developed a crush but the love was real. At first it was rough bec her looks wasn't really my type but over the years it really changed. Now its her "type" thats my type when looking for a new partner.

Type is just a plus and very flexible and will change over time. As long as you find the person attractive it doesn't matter if they meet your type.
