Nope. Voting can be private and should be. This, however, can become problematic when children are being raised and conflict about what values to try and impart on them arise.


However, there are some places & issues where morality dictates politics and these touch points can be very, very, important.

It's ok to have different view points, but cult mentality, and toxic views of how to handle politics (such as treating it like a sports game and voting for the candidate the opposite hates, just to spite the other party) is something that is an absolute turn off and mentality i despise. Voting and political views should be based on candidates being qualified for the position, what kind of connections they have, their donors, actual evidence & statistics, and having a history that is about actually helping the working class, not spouting ear honey then damaging the working class for their own financial benefit and connections.

I rather base on common sense... and I accept we can disagree in some topics

but we shouldn't go in totally opposite directions... it would ignite too many disagreements

No but if they want to contest something it has to be a calm respectful discussion and I would hope she would have researched the topics she disagrees with me on.

I would be open to changing my views through coherent non emotional discussions with good factual points and I would hope my prospective partner would do the same

Not really. As long as they aren't unreasonable. Though, unfortunately, the current republican parry largely glorifies unreason so it would be hard to find a reasonable person who disagrees with me politically.
