Was my guy friend not being honest in this situation?

So I rejected him last year and basically I feel like he used our one years worth of friendship to try and convince me to date him, after agreeing to just be friends. A few weeks ago we got into an argument bc he was trying to confess his feelings meanwhile I don’t hold feelings towards him more than a friendship. I do have a boyfriend. We just started dating a couple days ago. I really feel uncomfortable continuing this friendship after the argument. I did enjoy his friendship but I feel like at the very moment , it’s totally unfair to my boyfriend. Thoughts?

I think it's time to put a pause on that friendship. He didn't respect your boundaries and really once feelings enter the equation it's gonna be near impossible to just continue the friendship. Take a break from him and if he pushes back, just end things.

I told him we need space. I don’t want to disrespect my new boyfriend with this friendship and to introduce them knowing feelings were admitted a few weeks ago feels wrong

On top of all of that, his response was kind of disrespectful saying I’m a “red flag in relationships and friendships” and this was after I placed boundaries meanwhile appreciating our friendship. Feel like it’s just not meant to be friend wise either.

Red flag to him just means you put up boundaries he didn't like because it meant he couldn't have you. I agree with you, he doesn't sound like a very good friend

Yeah... so this happens... a lot. Don't be crazy about it. He has legit feelings for you and you don't reciprocate. Set a firm boundary and if he crosses it explain that if he can't stay platonic you have to cut ties. Period. Hold your ground.
