It’s pretty hard to answer… but honestly I think it would have been the same.
Actually I’m not happy, at least for that part of my life, and I know what does it mean being in love (especially not reciprocated).
If I didn’t knew what does it mean, I probably was more deluded in finding an imaginary love without having the idea of what does it mean.
Love, for my personal experience, means only suffering and pain, so if I didn’t knew what love is I probably would have suffered less but probably I’d be still mumbling about it and willing to find it.
That sounds like egoism.
I'm not sure it's possible to be happy in that state.
Arguably, love is the only thing with any meaning in life.
Of course, to be in love you need to be in a state of lovingness with yourself. ie your ability to love is dependent on the frequency or level of consciousness you resonate at.
Absolutely! Dont get me wrong, it feels amazing to be in love with someone. But it also feels great to be in love with yourself. I think both are unique in how we experience them. If Im single and feeling low, sometimes I wish I was in that 'in-love' state. But the same goes for when Im in a relationship. Sometimes I feel like I lose myself when Im with someone, and I find myself missing that feeling of 'singlehood'. I think I could be equally happy if I never knew what falling and being in love felt like. :)
Of course. Falling in love and being in love is nice but if I never experienced it I wouldn’t know what I missed out on

I dont know how to answer this, since I have ever been in love. Nothing I have ever experienced so far has matched with the definition of "love" I have in my mind.
Yes as you do not need to fall in love to be happy.
From say 5 to 15 you might never have a boyfriend or girlfriend, not experience love.
Does that mean you can’t be happy have a great life?
A person can be in love but have a horrendous time of it.
Not being married I am not sure what the ‘I’m in love let’s get married’ type of love is.
i am really happy though.
Absolutely. My life is fantastic with a wife and kids. I also was waiting for that I waited around 20 years. Interestingly I was happy before as well. I am happier now but I was happy before. All my wife did was increase the happiness I already had
I have only truly loved one woman in my entire life but I didn’t come to fully realize it until after we broke up. I was burying my true feelings for her out of fear of looking weak.
It’s complicated because I thought she really loved me but she was actually deeply infatuated with me which isn’t the same thing. True love is more selfless and not about possession.
It’s about wanting what’s best for the person even if it’s best for them to have you out of the picture.
I already know that I will never experience love (romantic) in my lifetime. I have always been single and yes I will still be happy even if I never experience romantic love in my lifetime.
If you never experienced something and didn't know how amazing it was, you would have no way of knowing what you had missed.. So you wouldn't miss it.
I don't think I would be happy or satisfied if I didn't experience love but I'm sure I would be much happier than I am now.
You could. Oneness with God is even better in some regards. Ask any Catholic Monk or Nun, they'll tell you.
You can't miss what you never had, but once you have had it, nothing is more overwhelming beautiful as being in love.
Not in the sense you speak of. But would still experience moments of happiness and maybe a whole few days. But don't you think they would be completely lonely and possibly a bit bitter toward all of God's Creation.
I had a crush on a girl in my teenage years around 17 years old. Would say it was puppy love as it didn't last long. As for being in love, I could be happy if I never experienced true love and being with someone.
Yes, it's overrated. It just feels like cocaine rush that lasts over months.
Oh yes! Love is shortlived happiness and often replaced with struggle and disagreements.
You can save yourself a lot of pain by never falling in love but instead find happiness in other aspects of life.
No because love is just attachment to a source of enjoyment, and without fulfilled desires, there is no point to existing.
Yes. That’s not the most important thing in the world
Probably not but I’m not sure. If I never knew what it felt like I guess I wouldn’t miss it.
I think that as a whole the world may be happier, as it would be one less thing to stress about, be depressed about especially when things go sideways between couples.
I would assume so. Everybody falls in love from time to time. Do you have zero dating experience
Love at least romantic love has never given my anything but anguish. I can honestly say I wish I had never felt love.
I think love sometimes causes more unhappiness than happiness.. if it is not reciprocated..
Yes love itself is a very beautiful feeling but extremely hurtful when it backfires
I think everything is just inside of our head. Love is just an daydream or our creation of imagination. I value family and friendship more. I think that’s love
I'm 32 and haven't fallen in love yet, so...
I’ll be honest if I don’t get a girlfriend at 30
I’m gonna give up.
It's hard to be sad over what you don't know exists
Honestly I'm just saving myself and waiting for the right time and right person to fall in love..
I'm a sucker for romance.
love is hormonal and temporary I don't believe in love
Whoever said it's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all never tried it
I 100% could “live” without it but I don’t need to
Probably wo romantic love, but wo ANY love? No.
You wouldn't know, so yeah.
Absolutely.
Yea totally
