I miss the feeling of being in love, having this special connection and chemistry with someone.

Today I was walking around the lake next to my apartment, the weather was perfect, the scenery was perfect and I and my best friend were talking about our past adventures. We talked about our teen loves, then our ex loves, we were remembering fondly what beautiful lives we’ve had and I kind of got the feeling that I miss being in love and being loved the way I was loved in the past.

Do you sometimes feel that as well?

I do sometimes, but then I think and see the position I'm in, I'm not settled yet, not much money and then I remember that being in love has a lot of responsibilities that come with it, you don't just gain someone's heart, you get their trust and they depend on you to a certain point, also if you start a family then taking care of that child isn't free unfortunately so there many responsibilities that come with it, the feeling itself tho I do miss it, wanting to think of someone else besides myself all the time, it's why I replace my lack of love trying to help others in their situations, I'm not thinking of myself so it's somewhat a good replacement lol

But also I am horribly anti social and like to be alone. I already have kids and I don't want to make more. I don't want to marry again and have a family.

So at this point I feel like I am done with all of that. Unless I meet some woman who wants to be alone with me.

It's not about missing the feeling of being "in love." Being in love is a temporary situation: the rose colored glasses, the beginnings, the fireworks, the perfect partner, the soul mate time. This isn't reality.

What I miss is having a person I can rely on to talk to, to go places with, to share thoughts with, to argue with, go do our separate things and come together. To share a meal. The living in love. And that love waxes and wanes. Sometimes you ignore it, are sick of it, are going to quit it, but if it's a positive, good choice, it's a growth industry!

That's what I miss!

At times, I miss that feeling, but I didn't really experience a lot of it. A few months.

I sort of miss "crushes" (or having the feeling of a crush), but I took myself out of the running on purpose. Plus, with my past, I have not had much luck with the past, so in a way, I guess I'm glad I don't have any "real" crushes.
