For a communist the best chance of being unacceptable is the last bit - a glaring personality conflict. It's not a certianty of course but in general I get agitated by idealism without a plan. Communism is ultimately advocating for public control over the means of production. I agree with this in principle because that principle is to take it out of the hands of wealthy gatekeepers. But the problem is there isn't really a plan for how that would work that wouldn't just end in either a handful of unelected government beurocrats getting into the position of gatekeeper or the whole thing falling apart because decentralized control is inefficient. There is no plan I've heard from any communist on how they would avoid those things that doesn't include something along the lines of "well, if everyone just stayed involved.." which is disappointing to hear because literally any system of government could work if everyone stayed involved. Our current democracy/capitalism duality gives us the greatest leeway for people ignoring politics but it is not infinite leeway - we are in fact running out. The right has to win just one more major election and we will be in a fascist dystopia for the foreseeable future.
But i digress. The point is if she acknowledges this is a severe problem that needs to be worked out realistically in advance, then there is likely no personality conflict. Otherwise there could be.00 Reply

1 yWell, I'm happily taken with a normal woman who isn't interested really in politics at all. However, I think when women really like a guy they will basically believe whatever he believes over time. A rightwing man can date a "communist" and she will be "left leaning" in a year and "right leaning" in five.

1 yDepends I guess on how they view the world / people / whatever.
If it is like labor camps, one masculine leader, and world domination or whatever then I wouldn’t want to date that person. I’d see ‘em as a nutcase.10 Reply 13.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. I can't handle dogma. Are you really a communist, believing that there should be no private enterprise? That tends to not work very well. People will not work if they cannot retain the fruit of their labor.
10 ReplyAnyone saying "no" doesn't realize/care that people grow up, mature, learn, change, etc... Excluding an ideology altogether is short-sighted. They could be an amazing person, otherwise, and will grow out of harmful beliefs.

1 yNo, but yes.
A commie is a lot better than a mindless consumerist.
But same as the ''capitalist'' - it's a way outdated view on life and on economy.
May I try to convert you to anarchy, instead?

m 1 yWhich Western country still has a Communist party infrastructure? In Germany these are splinter parties with a 0,0x % electorate…

The idea of politics is to implement them at the very least on a local level, no? How could you do this without a party to vote for or join and bring your work into?
- 1 y
I've been voting in the US for 45 years or so. In presidential elections I think there has been a communist/socialist candidate in every election, sometimes both parties. But yea, they get a tiny fraction of the votes. In local elections, I've never seen a communist candidate.
I think communist/socialist peaked in the 1920s-1930s, around the same time it was coming on strong in Europe. They got a significant number of votes then. Never enough to win, but still a large minority. - 1 y
Not really, I mean that's the hope but people including myself accept that the government is never going to be what you want anyway and voting is useless, it is always between two bad options cause most people vote for idiots and bad ideology's which those people would say the same back so it all becomes a useless waste of time no?
Also I don't need a law to exist or not exist for me to morally think something is bad or good. Same way having a party or not, don't matter to one's own ideals. So this idea of needing a party to be a communist don't make much sense.
Do you realize you wouldn’t own land or personal wealth. You can go to harvard and the junkie loser will make just as much as you

1 yRecreational use only, hard pass on anything serious. Communist means leftist; it also means the abolition of private property and tens of millions of people dead from starvation and dying in labor camps.
