I've been catfished before. He lied about his height, age, interests, and all his photos were before a big weight gain. So I just didn't go for another date.

It wasn't a traumatic experience or anything, in fact it took me a few days to realise that was a catfish. It's considered normal for men to lie about their height on dating apps, anyway. The whole experience taught me to skip on any man under 6'1, cause I know they're going to be shorter than me otherwise 🙄

I consider dating apps to be a okay alternative to IRL dating but you're right, finding someone without the screen is so much better

I been catfished a bunch of times , but no need to go on the show , because those catfishers do not last long with me , I am pretty good at catching catfishers myself. When I hear people fall for catfish? I just shake my head on how stupid can someone be , it’s common sense , if you are talking to someone online and they can’t prove to you that they are the person they are claiming to be? They are fake bottom line , I would never pursue someone that couldn’t prove to me , that they are legit. Anytime a girl inboxes me and flirts with me , and sends me pictures , those pictures mean shit until she can prove to me that’s really her , if she hesitates to prove to me that’s really her? I don’t waste anymore of my time with her , because whoever it is , is clearly talking out their ass. When someone likes you and is interested in you and wants to meet you , they don’t hesitate to prove they are legit , I will usually ask them to video chat me or send me a video of themselves saying Hi (my name) to me , if they can’t do that? I have been catfished. Girls on dating apps have told me they've seen my profile used before. It kind've sucks but it's also a bit of a flex where people think I'm attractive enough to catfish, but also it makes me lose credibility.

Funniest thing is I was accused of being a catfish on this app too when I started out in like 2012. And I proved to the guy that accused me by asking him to tell me what to write on a piece of paper and I would change my profile picture to me holding that next to my face. He apologized so fast lmao.

Oh it's not all that bad.
One of the guys the catfisher chatted with decided to find me on Facebook and ask if he said anything wrong because I didn't respond to him anymore.
That's how I found out my info and pics were being used.
Him and I contacted the site admins and they removed the profile, but not before per my request sending everyone the profile was in contact with a message explaining what was happening.
I was apparently quite popular.
No real harm was done, so now it's just a funny story and an ego boost 😅

Back then I didn't know yet that I'd turn out to be bisexual and thought myself straight.
But seeing that that profile with my name, info and photos had hundreds of likes and many guys talking and flirting apparently (the admin said it would take a while to send all the messages so the profile would be online for a bit longer, when I asked why the responded with "the profile has many open chats").
So I felt really flattered

No that wasn’t a problem that was on PIcFights I was a moderator on there over 13 years ago. It was never about dating anyway, and I just knew who it was and I do believe that she knew that I knew who it was. I was just playing along with her for a couple days, the original user was trying to cause a lot of problems for me play the devils advocate game. it didn’t work out so she made a new account. And she was trying to be kind and sweet, using reverse psychology on me trying to get me to do something acting like she was a new girl on the site which I knew who it was anyway.
