Because, just like women constantly encounter insecure assholes who play nice, then insult & berate them when rejected. Guys face their version, where women abuse the "men always pay for everything on the date" social norm, just so they can get a free meal and/or free stuff. there's also women that just want guys to pay for their drinks, by flirting with no intention of it going anywhere. With dating sites/apps we constantly match with women soliciting us to join their onlyfans and/or sexcam site.

We are used to women only wanting to use us for money and nothing wanting else from us, besides maybe a 1-night stand.
Men just want to be treated as people with emotions, likes, and vulnerabilities. Not some statue that hands out cash for women playing with our emotions and feelings.
Heck, men don't even get compliments from women, unless they want something or it's a sarcastic/back-handed complement.
Only compliments i ever get, are not for me, but my outfit. Whey i hear "hey sexy!" it is always followed up by "mean girl" laughter.
When it comes to the romance side of society men are used and treated like crap.

Guys don't think you want "only money" from them. They are well aware that you want their house, their car, their furniture, their kids, their dog, their boat, so on and so forth. Men typically do not want their processions to be desired. They want to be desired for who they are personality wise, what they look like, and their deeds. When you want their stuff, it's a huge turn off and it's easy to show that most women want other people's stuff.
