If I were to say "see you around" it would mean that I plan to see you again. But the way you wrote it, seemed like he was being dismissive. The easy fix is to reach out soon and see how he's doing. If he's interested, he'll ask you out again for sure. If he talks about how busy he is, that's probably a good sign he isn't trying to continue seeing you.

It was a dating app first date, but no. I don’t think I misinterpreted myself. He wasn’t that blunt in the text. He did seem nervous during the date and even offered me to get me more food to go since I didn’t eat much and walked me to my car. But your right I will just wait and see.
