It's fine and it really isn't a big deal. Go for it. 2 years seems like a big deal right now, but I promise you it's not. The older you get, the less age matters. It's normal for people to date even with 20 years of difference in age. When he's 20 you'll be 18. When he's 30 you'll be 28. When he's 40 you'll be 38. I know it's basic math, but I'm just showing how small that sounds the older you get. There are tons of girls at 16 who have dated even older than 18. So relax and just do what feels right to you.

That's fairly common. Kids in high school date each other. Often, they're the same age but not always.

I think usual would be a better word than normal, mainly as dating is a normal thing to do. Here in the UK, it happens, not hugely usual but it does go on. For other countries I don’t know what their usual standards are.

if it was 1/4 that would mean a 60 year old would date a 15 year old or an 80 year old would date a 20 year old
