I married one. I've dated a few Filipinas and they are different than other Asians. I've traveled to the Philippines a few times and visited her parents and siblings at the family home, partied with the family and their neighbors, and vacationed with them. There's nothing like a Filipino party and family gatherings are anything but boring. The country is absolute beautiful and once you get there it's very inexpensive. Learn a few words and you'll be treated very well by most but it's not uncommon for things cost a little more if you're a foreigner. You'll pay a skin tax with some things.
Filipinas are a little complex. They are submissive at times and also stubborn. They can be clingy but also very independent. They aren't like a 1950s housewife, more like an 1850s housewife. If you have a rodent problem in your house, you might start eating meat you don't recognize but you will solve the rodent problem. If she doesn't think you make enough money or you mention that you don't like your job, she might make you a resume and start getting you interviews to better jobs.
If you have no problem dating in your country, they will be very loyal. If you have a hard time dating where you live, you're called an LBH, loser back home and she will upgrade you when she gets a chance. Show then an ounce of love, and you'll get 10 pounds of love back because they love hard. Give them an ounce of crap and you'll get 10 tons of shit dumped on you. We're friends with a couple and their both Filipinos going through their own breakup and it's scorched earth. Filipinas have long fuses and usually deal with anger by staying quiet for long periods of time. But they do have tempers and when they explode, look out. If you're mature and always calm, they are super sweet and you'll be fine.
My wife made it clear that she wants to move back to the Philippines one day and I'm good with that. Most Filipinas I know are only here to make money so they can support family and build a nice house back home. If a Filipina moves to the west before she turns 30, she tends to become westernized. It seems like when they leave after they turn 30 they hold on to their traditions more.
I would recommend traveling there so you know what you're getting yourself into. Visit a few islands and take in the culture. It's not for everyone but I love it there. Filipinas love food so going out to eat with them is big. My wife has never picked a restaurant to eat at, it's always my choice. However, I only choose one I know she would like because my life is way better if I do that and I'm not a picky eater. My monthly grocery bill went way up because my wife eats 3 times as much as I do but somehow only weighs 100lbs.

The way that passport bros gush over them is creepy. I have never been to the Phillipines but I have spent some time in the Far East. Asian women aren't half as submissive as some guys seem to think and the fact that they pursue them on those grounds is creepy anyways.
