Does it ever? Yeah, it’s that way A LOT. Every time someone claims they’re starting a womens’ support group I now brace myself for the catty competitiveness, the petty arguments within the leadership, etc, etc, etc. The cattiness always ruins everything and the organization tends not to lend much support to members bc it’s lost in the process of appeasing the leadership.

(I know… I’m over-generalizing. I know… a bunch of girls are waiting to tar-and-feather me for saying such things. I’m simply stating the facts as I’ve witnessed them, having joined several local/regional/national groups that ended up being essentially useless to the many women who were ACTUALLY in need of critical guidance and support. You don’t have to share my opinion, obvi., but that’s a fair assessment based on what I know to be true.)

Yes I have had this experience in life with women. But that's not been the case here on GAG which has been a pleasant surprise. Because of said competiveness amongst women which I have seen I have always found it easier to build friendships with men instead. And no that doesn't mean sleep with them. It means reap friendships.

But it's hard! We (most of us?) are very insecure and can't help comparing ourselves so that makes being too friendly with eachother hard outside of the work place and maybe some planned social gatherings!

It does make a huge difference tho when women are nice to eachother! When I was starting to go out solo there was always some nice ladies that took me under their wing!!

There's been a good share of "wasp faced" women too! You know what I mean 😂

I believe in woman solidarity but some don’t sadly 🥹 I hope one day women stop being competitive and just gain some self confidence instead of putting down other women 🥳🥳
