Girl, from what you've told me, this relationship sounds super toxic. Getting insulted is never okay, no matter what happened before.
I know it's hard to fully let go when you still have feelings for someone, but you gotta value yourself more than that. Just because he says he feels loved by you doesn't mean you should accept disrespect. You deserve way better than a guy who sees insulting you as acceptable behavior.
The best thing for your well-being is to cut contact and move on completely. He's had his chance, and all it led to was hurtful words. Don't let him manipulate you into staying by saying you "don't understand" - you understand enough to know this relationship isn't healthy or good for your self-esteem.
It's gonna be tough, but staying strong and removing him from your life is really the healthy choice here. Surround yourself with real friends for support. In time you'll heal from this and find a guy who treats you with respect, not insults, always. You got this - don't look back, just keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Move on. Why the hell are you doing this?
Why should I move on?
