Depends on the type of sarcasm. I am sarcastic, but I'd like to think that it's not mean... it's mostly a little snarky, but I think it's on the level of being a sibling who likes to mess with people.

I'd like to think it wouldn't genuinely hurt people. I take it as "If I like you, I'm playing with you a little." I think one quality of mine is I'm like a big brother. I'll trash talk, or mess with you a little, but I will also stick up for you if someone is out of line.

If it's a mean kind of sarcasm and often sounds really cruel or harsh, or where people can never quite tell if you mean it, then no, I don't like that.

Now, someone who can't be serious at a serious situation, or is constantly joking, that'd get old quickly, too. There is a time and place.

But I like silly and fun, sure. I think if they didn't get my sense of humor, or any bit of childlike fun angered or embarrassed them... that'd be hell to deal with. A friend told his fiancee (another friend) that if he didn't have a new joke (or couldn't make her laugh) every day, that'd be a sign of a problem.

I think if I ever have a successful relationship, it'd be because we could both make each other laugh or smile. I've dated super serious, and I've dated "easily pissed off." I try to avoid "easily pissed off." And if I can avoid it in any future relationship, I will do my best.
