Nothing wrong with prepping. So long as, as a woman, you are conscious and considerate of time lol. So your prepping doesn't make u a consistently late person! That wd be annoying!
I don't take long to be fair. Only maybe 30 mins tops for a special occasion. Longer if I then have a change of heart about what to wear!! Hate that lol.
And for non special occasions I can be up and ready in ten mins.
I take a while myself lol. I trim my beard a little, clean any body hair I don't like, take long ass showers (like 20-30 minutes), dab a little olive oil on dry patches of skin, coconut oil in my hair and comb. Then it takes me about 5 minutes to choose my clothes. Overall takes me about 1 hour on average when I want to clean myself up to go out.
But I'm always ready when I need to go. The only time a girl would annoy me in getting ready is if she's not ready when it's time to go.
Not so much that she took her time (1.5 hours was not uncommon); she'd start rushing me as soon as she was done...
@Crimsyjo Sorry, didn't mean to ignore you... I've only just noticed your reply.
Make up, plucking her eyebrows, shaving armpits, shaving her legs, brushing her hair, brushing her teeth, flossing, mouth wash, body wash (if she didn't have a bath; she had baths 3x a week... I had at least 7).
All these things... every day.
She is severely self-conscious... I could even go as far as suffering from 'Body Dysmorphia' (I know how that is; I may have suffered 20 years from that)... She will not leave the flat without mirrors and constantly checks to see if her hair and make up are still alright.
She is a 'bigger' lady... some would say obese... saggy boobs (though you can't see that when she is wearing a bra of course), her hair was getting thinner at the front. So all these little imperfections had made her way too self-conscious.
Awww. It's horrid the mental torture we put ourselves through. I thought I was fat at age 17. Now I look back and think was I crazy? I have a lot of self conscious issues. But having a partner that loves and accepts you *should* make you feel better!
I've only recently got much better at accepting myself as I am. Bigger than i was. Older. Skin is not smooth like a 20 Yr old lol.
@Crimsyjo As I have mentioned, I have worried a lot about myself as a teenager. There are medical reasons for that; I severely lagged behind in my development (Skeletal age, at the age of 12, was 9-9.5 years; I lagged 3-4 years behind).
I can read in my medical records, which I have had to request in my country of birth The Netherlands, that it severely affected me as a teenager. I spent a lot of time worry about my flaws, even the ones other people cannot see; and that is a mental health condition: 'Body Dysmorphic Disorder'.
@Crimsyjo I'd say I got passed that somewhat when I met my ex in 2006; and when she finally allowed me to move in with her in 2009: I felt I could take on the world. That' relationship' has caused significant damage to my mental state again, but a 'new world' opened for me after that. I am all of sudden being noticed, I feel I am being heard... people seem to like me. I am very easy to approach outside and I am always up for a conversation with strangers.
I've also picked up tattooing again. I had 1 up till the age of 40... I've got only 10 now, but 1 covers the whole right side of my body: neck down to my right food. Back, front and side. I love tattoos, they make me feel really confident about myself... but I also have the strong suspicion that it may be linked to a lingering 'Body Dysmorphic Disorder' and that I feel a need to improve my body (I am a bit skinny... I would like a bit more body mass and muscle tissue). I 'prance around town like a Peacock', showing off my body and tattoos... and I wear fashion styles which stand out: Skinhead; I wear a Scottish Kilt; and I love my 'Peaky Blinders' suit (though I don't really wear that outside of course... too expensive for that)
@Crimsyjo I also seem to care a lot about my vocabulary; sure 'effing and blinding' is no foreign concept to me... but I do know when it might be accepted and when it is most certainly not accepted.
And I spend an awful lot of time proof-reading and editing my 'essays'. I love typing (never though I would), and I have a lot to talk about. To be taken serious, your writing style, spelling and grammar are really important. So I spend a lot of time 'ironing out' the worst of my mistake.
I've been told my English and Dutch are very good (I do struggle with my native, Dutch, language now... it feels uncomfortable to speak in Dutch).
I seriously miss an Edit option here on Gag... I am sometimes shocked to see my own mistakes lol
Oh God yes!! My autocorrect is really dumb. It changes my words like guy to gut or other "ok" words to other words. And is random. And I write so fast and long I post before reading back. Which I should. But yes an Edit button is so needed. It should let you edit at least within 5 mins of posting!
@Crimsyjo Lol, would I use a phone my typing would be even more atrocious! I am not very good with mobile phones, I highly prefer using a PC.
I basically only use my phone so I can listen to music when I am outside; my phone is always on Do not Disturb (I am not receiving many phone calls anyway, so that's not an issue) π€£
