He texted me saying that he almost got himself into a car accident and I comforted him and was like if you don't feel like texting we can talk later as the energy seemed to be a bit off and to my surprise he agreed to do so - It has now been a week and he hasn't reached out

This is a good example of how women treat men when it comes to men’s emotions. That’s why I don’t think it’s good for men to express these types of emotions in front of women. Because now you’re thinking, is this dude a big ass baby? Part of you is thinking he’s just dragging this out when it could be legitimately how he feels. In a way I’m thinking it’s kind of turning you off. Women tend to carry traumas w them all their life, but they will use that as their reason for doing or not doing certain things. I’ve seen women who had a “bad” week because their boss reprimanded them one day. I’ve known women who haven’t driven anymore because of a near death experience while driving.

Oof... I am not doing the Poll; It's not normal, but also doesn't necessarily mean he is dumping you.

Though to me this doesn't feel right... Would I have been in a car accident I would want to be with my partner 24/7, getting pampered and well looked after.

The thought of the possibility that the car crash could have killed me and thus I would never be able to hold my love in my arms is terrifying... So yeah, I would want to go over the top with Love and Affections for at least the next few days maybe even couple of weeks before things might return to normal.

So the guy got hurt and your response (after whatever your immediate comforting may have been) was to tell him not to text till he’s feeling better… You didn’t think to text him and check on him since HE was in an accident?
