A long time ago yes. Today No. that’s not enough. Technology has not helped in this matter.

there’s filtering in videos today as well and even voice changers so not only can the person look different even in video but can potentially even sound different as well.

Can’t trust anything today even video calls.

and it’s not just talking about filtering blemishes. All these cam girls looking extra nice because the skin texture looks almost perfect. Perks up the nose slightly and makes it smaller while making the eyes look slightly bigger and puckered lips with slight fake lashes, this is all aside the real makeup one is already wearing… one can now even look like a man I’d you’re a woman and look like a woman if you’re a man with voice changers. How can we trust anyone online today? It’s not even about being paranoid, just knowing there’s all these filters it’s hard to trust anything we see today even if it’s live viewing. They should really ban filtering. But they won’t. They’ll just make it more realistic as time goes.

Oh and not everyone owns a laptop. I personally build my own computers, I own a laptop without a web cam, and a desktop which also has no Webcam.. I work in cyber security, so devices like web cams are not permitted in my home. But hey, you're not ready for that conversation yet are you?
