Do I ask for a follow up message?

I was talking with my coworker and I assumed we like each other. We agreed to go on dates and we both enjoyed the dates we went.

A few days later after the last date I asked her out on another date she said yes I'll let you know when I'm free. she got really busy with work and her parents for the next 6 days. We would only message once a day but it would be essays about our days.

I told her I was feeling distant with her but understand because she's been busy. She then messaged me saying yeah I've been busy with work and catching up with my family. I think it's best if we stay as friends and do regular hangouts. Then I ended up telling her that I like her and enjoyed getting to know her and wanting to work things out and having a full commitment in doing so. She hasn't responded to me yet and it's been almost a week. Do I send a follow up message? Because everything in dating and texting wise was going great. It was just when she got busy at work is when it all happened.
