Would you send a follow up message?

Men, if you’re genuinely interested in a woman and really enjoy talking to her- let’s say the two of you have been texting back and forth for a couple weeks and the conversations have been great and the two of you really get along-if she suddenly out of the blue just left you on ‘read’ would you just completely let it go and not message her again unless she messaged you, or would you send a follow up message? If you would send a follow up message, how long would you typically wait?

I went on a coffee date with a girl I met on OKC a week ago. Although our conversation was initially very positive it did feel awkward at times.

However she was more attractive than I expected. I decided to wait a few days. I noticed she was still matched to me on OKC. Then three days ago I texted her a “what up” and asked if she would like to go bowling. No response.

If she doesn’t get back to me by tomorrow I’ll just delete her number and move on. Not going to message her again.

I'd back off her and probably wouldn't bother with her again, knowing that she is capable of cutting me off out of the blue without reason. I mean why the hell would a girl just cut off a great guy just like that? He was making the effort, the chemistry was there, it makes zero sense, unless she was just using him.

Not to seem like a creep or assume she enjoys the conversation when she's not, I back off and I learned not to wait. Waiting creates anxiety or raises one's hope up and then it gets crushed when she doesn't or she does with one or 2 words replies. If she texts back, fine, if she doesn't, well... Good.

It would depend on the conversation. Someone eventually has to have the last word.


Some things really don’t need a response. Sometimes people get busy. Nothing personal unless it’s done intentionally or something is important. Or someone waits days to randomly respond. That’s weird.

It would depend on what my last message was. But in general, I might send a brief text just saying "Hey", or "What's up?", or "Do you want to hang out?" Something along those lines. Again, depending on the last message, I'd wait two or three days.

I’d be really confused, but if it’s not important enough for her to message me then I’m not going to exert effort to message her either. At that point out operate on the assumption that she’s found something better.

If it was out of the blue like you said, I'd be confused & probably wait a day or two to see if she picks the convo up again.

Why leave him on 'read' out of the blue anyway?
