Would you leave a note?

Someone did something similar to my mates car.
they clipped his car coming into a car park, this was caught on his camera but no real details of registration.
the person then did the note thing apologising but was just a sorry,
the thing is it set of his cameras optical proximity sensor which then got the person and them going back to their car..
Yup. And it'd be just like that, too. And I'd even change my handwriting so I couldn't easily be tracked down.
It happened to my cousin and her ex husband when they were parked with a rental vehicle during a vacation and their credit card insurance company waited between 6-9 months to reimburse them because they were hoping my cousin would forget about her insurance benefit and pay it off herself to save time.
As it probably could have meant any bystander having taken my registration number, I would naturally leave an apologetic note/letter including all my contact details.
Honesty is always the Best Policy.

Last time I hit a car, it was on purpose (slapped the side mirror)
The driver inside was too surprised that he even HAS a mirror. Asshole.
A note was not needed to add.
Yes because you don’t know how long the person going to be before they return at least you’re admitting you did something wrong instead of running
I’d leave a note and my informations so I can pay for the repair.
I would do exactly what you did. Idiots don't know how to park and expect me to perform a miracle to pull into a parking space.
In my State it is the law that you leave a note on their windshield with your name, contact info., and insurance info.
