So we are talking about plans, and he is like (we are teenagers): “yeah I would be down, but my dad is kind of busy so he can’t drive me there but I’ll get a job soon and den Uber.” Should I reply like: oh okay cool! So something else?

If he's expecting a job application and salary to happen before his dad stops being busy that's well... a busier dad than anyone I know.

I'd probably go with something a little less dismissive but yours is fine. You don't need to overthink it.

If an uber does it you're not that far away from each other or the intended area. Should be plenty of options. Depending on your relation you could solve it too
