Is He Worth It, or Am I Setting Myself Up for Heartbreak?

So, for context, I (18F) have developed feelings for my friend's older brother (20M) over the past couple of months. Recently, he asked me out via text, but I've been picking up on vibes that he might not be all that enthusiastic or could be somewhat nonchalant about our date - also he takes hours to reply to my texts. I'm hesitant because I really don't want to end up heartbroken. What do you all think? Is he worth pursuing, or am I better off not going out with him to avoid wasting my time?
