Did I do too much in this situation or is he just not the guy for me?

So I have been seeing this guy for awhile now. Well on and off. It’s on and off because in my opinion he is not a good communicator. He would disappear mid text conversation, he wouldn’t really call me, always had an excuse sometimes on why he couldn’t get together. And he would always come back around with some reason or whatever. So I would block him.

well recently he said he did some thinking and wanted to get himself together and he didn’t want to lose me. He told me I needed to be more patient with him, communicate when I had an issue and not be so quick to block him off. So I decided to give it another chance.

it was going really well until recently. He has only called me once this week and when i call him he doesn’t answer and when I ask him if we can talk on the phone he says he will call me but never does, he hasn’t made any real plans for us to hang out, our text are nothing meaningful. He text me everyday throughout the day but that gets boring after awhile.

when the weekend came around he said he would be free and we could hang out. When the day actually came he told me his sister and niece would be in town and he would be busy. I said ok cool. He still texted me seldom throughout the day.

I told him I wanted to talk to him about how I have been feeling lately. he said “ok is it bad” I said “no not really” he said “ok when I leave my moms house we will talk about it”. Midnight came around and he never got back in touch with me. I decided to just text him how I felt and that it seemed like he was going back to his old ways, seeming uninterested, no phone calls, no real plans, not texting me back until the next day sometimes in the middle of a conversation. It’s been almost 24 hours and he has not responded. Did I do anything wrong in this situation?
