Why does a guy make a big deal to have to see you, a date is arranged, confirmed a few days before and then he cancels at the last minute?

Why make a big deal if you are not going to follow through?

it could be they’re feeling shy/self conscious and feel you won't be attracted to them at last second. Could be anxiety, if they like you they will rearrange for another date. Could also mean they found someone.

It depends on the reason. Wanted to watch a game on TV, bad. Wife was in a car accident, good. Good reason, not good that his wife was in a car accident.

Was there a believable reason given and an offer of a reschedule? If not, you probably dodged a bullet so to speak.
