3.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. A few years back I got a phone call it was my mom she was living with my sister and she asked me to come pick her up I asked her what was wrong and she said she would explain just come pick her up I picked her up and she told me that... My nephew was abusing her and my sister and she just couldn't take it anymore she wanted me to help her find a place to live..
My mom has dementia and there was just no way I was going to let her go someplace and live on her own so I told her you're going to move in with me and that's it..;
Well I was going out with a girl off and on and I didn't think it would be right to try to start a relationship and deal with my mom at the same time and 3 years later...
I haven't seen that girl but my mom just passed away so now I'm going to start life all over again but first I have to get my stuff together and get caught up on with everything and just kind of adjust find myself for a few minutes because that just wiped me out took me by surprise for sure...
But I love relationships I love being with a girl and it's just time to start here as soon as I find somebody I guess10 Reply- 12.7K opinions shared on Dating topic.
u 1 yI lived alone for several years because I don't need a woman to be my housekeeper and I didn't have a partner who I wanted to invite to share a bed for the rest of our lives. That all changed in July, 2021, when Helen and I started living together. We were married on April 27. If she had not come into my life, I would have remained single until I met the right woman.

2. Bc too many guys are shady/trifling sorts and I can't be bothered to sort through those to find the one "right guy".
3. If I'm meant NOT to be single, the right guy will be on my path at some point.40 Reply- 3.5K opinions shared on Dating topic.
1 yI/m not single now, but I was.
I was single for several years while going to college and establishing my career. Then I started dating, got married, and was not single for 20 years until an amicable divorce. Then I was single again, and started dating, until I got married again.. 7 years and counting.

1 yBroke, live with mom, no drivers license.
Otherwise, I'd say I have a decent personality, stay fit, and can converse pretty well. Sadly the former aspect is more important to most women.31 Reply- 1 y
I don’t think it’s more important as far as emotional attachment. But from a practical aspect if she wants to live an adult life and start a family, it matters very much.

3.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. Because most females’ are selfish people that only really care about themselves,

Really?

Okay, I believe you... lol back
- 1 y
I will continue then, in the absence of Caroline91, most is a very large number, that means billions, what made you reach such a terrible conclusion about women in general?
- 1 y
Mainly based off of my personal experiences and things I have witness through the years with other couples and relationships. The bottomline almost every single person on this planet has selfishness in them , if you can’t remove selfishness for your partner , don’t expect them to remove it for you , a relationship takes 2 people choosing each other completely for it to work and last , not the other way around. No relationship is perfect , because no one is perfect. For a relationship to last both people have to choose each other and accept each others’ flaws , as long as those flaws aren’t jeopardizing your relationship together , like cheating or lying and backstabbing etc.. you both are on the same page as things and you both follow those boundaries the same way , if not? You are just wasting your time and theirs. Most females that I have dated that wanted a relationship with me eventually lied and changed their minds , ended up cheating on me or leaving me for someone else. I have witnessed this with other couples as well too many times to the point I feel most females’ are more selfish than guys’ are when it comes to commitment. If a girl isn’t getting her way in a relationship she will more than likely run to someone else to save her , most females’ are no wrong in her doings , I am not saying every female , but a lot of them are only after what she feels is best for her. Her way or no way. I have slept with married women and girls’ that were already in a relationship that lied to me saying she was single , when really she wasn’t. I have witness girls ‘ cheating on their husbands and boyfriends when they were out with their friends for Girls’ night , I am not saying guys’ don’t do this shit either , I just witness and experienced girls’ doing this more than guys’ do
- 1 y
I'm sorry to hear all that, really, that's a lot of jazz you've been into and observed, that sucks, definitely :/ What can I say to this, not much, I can only say that my personal experience has been way better on this topic, but I'm not saying this to invalidate your experience at all, just... to acknowledge how things can take a very different turn in one's life
- 1 y
Yea I hope you never experience man , I wish I didn’t either but it’s sadly the chance we take when falling for someone. We can’t read minds and we don’t really know what someone’s true colors are or their intentions , all we can do is love the same way we want to be loved in return , we can l’t force someone to stay loyal and faithful to us , we can just treat them the same way we want to be treated in return , sadly that isn’t always the case
Yes, and here is why:
1) I'm relatively young to be in a serious, monogamous relationship. I think I would rather form a better perspective through reading books and chasing different interests over going into pointless relationships that won't lead anywhere. How do I know when I'm ready? When I start paying taxes (still a student) and when I think I'm ready to be a dad.
2) I'm currently in the formative years of my career (I have 2 more years left to graduate medical school before residency training) so I need to prioritize that.
3) My family is well-connected (my parents are quite sociable), so I don't really think I need to look that far to find someone of value, hence why I'm not in a rush. Some people consider it lazy, I consider it being smart. Always better when someone else helps you out in the vetting process, although I'm not opposed to finding someone myself either.
Ideally, I will be single for another 8 to 10 years just to get my board certification. However, it might happen sooner than that (as soon as the next 4 years) if I accidentally find someone worth it, since I'm not currently looking.

That reasoning strikes me as extremely calculated, too much calculated in regards to the nature of life, which is rather chaotic lol. Yes, I find it hard to believe that you cannot be hooked on a girl you didn't chose, randomly appearing, such event has never happened to you?
I know you're young, but not a teenager either, so I'm surprised by the perfect painting you depict, it seems to violate the laws of physics I just invented - 1 y
@Maybe_Maybe_not Funny you said it, because I get that a lot. Yes, I know that life isn't predictable and that anything can happen. I'm aware of different possibilities, but I would prefer this route. I don't know what will happen in 2 years or even in 6 months, anything is possible, but as of now this is what I want to do.
I'm also very selective when it comes to women, so I wouldn't date a lot of my colleagues/classmates anyway, because A) it creates drama when you break up since you still share the same stage and B) I wouldn't want to marry another future physician. I don't do "cold approaches" either, because I would prefer to know something about the person as opposed to just approaching a random stranger, and I've never really been "hooked" on someone specifically since I grew out of my teenage years.
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yPartly choice, partly lifestyle, mostly because I don't appeal to most women.
I'm too shy, too short, too ugly, too quiet for most women.
I don't know women who would set me up (assuming they knew someone who wouldn't mind being set up).
I might meet one or two attractive women (who might be single) through mutual friends, say, at a party... once every six months to a year (that's women who I have the opportunity to talk to) which is not enough to get her digits. That's assuming things go well. Then they don't show up for another year. Chances of "running into them" are nonexistent, either because they're busy, they got into a new relationship, have a demanding job, I'm not living in the area... we don't like the same things... etc.
I moved. I'm an hour from any family. I'm an hour away from most friends in any direction. So to do stuff, it takes two or three hours of driving (in some bad areas). My brother comes to my area once a week for lunch or dinner, but he's the only one. My other siblings/friends don't bother.
Part of me is just trying to get better or make it through the day. I have some recent health issues, coupled with anxiety and depression (and the health issues don't make that stuff better).
All that being said, I probably COULD probably be in a relationship if I wanted to, but it would not be worth it to me. Like the occasional affection would not be worth putting up with women who think "guilty until proven innocent." To have someone constantly insulting me, lying, cheating, accusing me of stuff I'd never do, silent treatment over some small perceived slight, constantly creating manufactured drama, fighting with me, often being angry with me, purposely alienating or secretly threatening my friends so they stay away... I'd rather be single than have that.10 Reply742 opinions shared on Dating topic. I guess it has been a year of single awareness for me lol.
I've just been on a journey to rediscover myself and building a new relationship with myself; protecting my peace; the choice to choose me and do me, healing, lifestyle "on the go" with being super career driven and living my best life, & trying to establish my goals and just obtained one of them recently (hooray!); be my own dream girl; relearning to love the parts of me that haven't been easy to love and forgotten to be love; and I guess I haven't met a genuine person who has changed my mind yet.

@Maybe_Maybe_not privileged to heal time with enjoyment? I am curious.
I believe we all have choices... healing & happiness is also a choice. - 1 y
then that would be a point where we might differ haha
That might be explained by a continental difference, but for a serious topic like this, I suggest we go private :)
2.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. I'm not now, but for a long time it was by my choice.
I just got tired of the drama, being used as a wallet, the games.
I enjoyed the freedom that I had, doing what I wanted, with whomever I wanted, being able to come and go as I pleased, buy what I wanted to.
I could get laid pretty much when it suited me.
I got out of a bad marriage, and a couple of relationships that soured over time, so it just wasn't worth it.
I had a lot of fun, met a lot of interesting people, traveled all the lower 48 states, Canada and Mexico on a motorcycle. I felt like a kid again.
Kind of like a second childhood, only with money and experience.

10 Reply 673 opinions shared on Dating topic. I have always enjoyed being single mainly cause I have social anxiety though have met girls throughout my 20's and 30's, just friends. Never felt like getting into a relationship as it would be awkward for me. Plus the girl that I liked in my 20's ended up with another guy and had children gotten married. After that I just preferred to be single and believe it's better for myself mentally and spirituality.

1 yI am a transwoman and I need to dress up to get a boy friend. But I am scared because of haters. Some transgenders get a boy friend without transitioning. I don’t know what to do right now. I think my English play a role too. I am not good at communicating. But what the hell? I have a faith in God will make me rich and forgive all the sin and heal my body and soul. So I am happy with God.

10 ReplyAll the ladies interested in me are... heftier than I'm attracted to. All the women I'm attracted to aren't interested in the lifestyle I intend to live. So I frequently just have shorter relationships before I dislike them, or I piss them off enough to leave.

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yI'm lonely as hell. But I learned many years ago that I can't make a woman happy. They are attracted to me, and we get into a relationship, but I'm unable to make the kind of commitment they want and it always ends badly. I don't want to cause any woman that kind of pain again. So I knew years ago I was destined to remain single.
