How do people end up in long situationships?

I don’t want to sound judgmental, but I don’t understand this. Whenever a guy seems unsure about me, can’t clarify what he wants out of the dynamic, or we just aren’t on the same page, I end things and block him.

I think often people who like someone but don’t really want a relationship enter situationship happily enough and downturns feelings change. And sometimes lack of trust develops bc we are taught there is something wrong with not wanting more.

I think the trope of a situationship necessarily being unrequited desire for more with a villain ands victim is not necessarily accurate. In some cases sure tho in those cases I agree with you why stay if you want more 🤷🏻‍♀️

but it is very possible to be in a situationship, have feelings for someone and still not want a relationship but still be bothered that the other person is equally ok with that 😂

I have been in this situation, it only ended bc the other person could not accept I really didn’t want a relationship, whether they did I could not determine they either did and weee hiding it or they didn’t but still wanted me to want one.

Anyhow, I was cool with how things were but his constant insistence i must want more just got too annoying for me.

There is comfort is being with someone you like without having to shove it Into a prepackaged box in my opinion, unless of course you want to be boxed in and many do but I think they tend to project that onto people who are just fine in the situation phase and cast unnecessary judgement on a thing that may just fine for those involved or maybe not fine but not for the reasons assumed.

Mine was pretty long, like 1.5 years or something like that? The reason was simple. Long distance and wanting to make it official in person during the lockdowns. Took a long time before we could finally make it official properly but we were already unofficially a couple. She knew i'd say yes, I knew she'd say yes and we were fully exclusive and treating each other like a couple. So the only difference was the title and a proper moment to do that. Starting the relationship without being in person felt to cheap I had a very special romantic moment planned out and while that didn't work due to lockdowns not lifting as we hoped I got her a properly special replacement for it somewhere else.

I do the same thing I refuse to play games with anyone. It’s because they choose to be. Either they like the games, they are too attracted to the picture they made of someone in their head, or they’re playing the same games.

If I ask someone where I stand with them and she doesn’t give me a clear answer. It’s just time to move on. I don’t play hard to get, I don’t ghost someone, I don’t play hot and cold, and all these other stupid games that do nothing but waste time. When I can find someone whose genuinely into me

ONSs and friends with benefits are short trems. It's very unusual for short terms relationships last longer. When tell people I'm only looking short-terms I always get rejected or ghosted. Everybody thinks I'm looking for sex when I'm actually not because my huge passion is computers and electronics. That's my big focus right now
