Could you handle dating a content creator?

I’m currently dating a woman who’s a content creator. Online, she portrays herself as a model, travel enthusiast, and foodie. But offline, she’s a shy nerd like me. We both have engineering degrees, still watch anime/cartoons, and love playing board games.

Sometimes when we go out, she’s dressed in some revealing clothing and I’ll be her personal photographer for her page. While I get that she needs to post, sometimes I wish we could just go out and enjoy each other, not making content. I also wish she would dress more modest in public too, I don’t like other guys looking at her.

While I love to travel too, she has high standards. She must have a “plane outfit”, she has to pack at least 4 outfits for each day we’re gone (i. e. 5 day trip = 20 outfits), and she has to sit in Delta Comfort Plus or equivalent at minimum.

I also don’t post on social media anymore, because she’s super critical. For my last 2 posts, I had to let her edit all of my pictures.

I truly appreciate the low-key moments when it’s just me and her or us hanging out with friends. But the demand to keep up with her is stressful. I don’t like having to wear a “plane outfit”, I’m a minimalist when I pack, and I don’t mind just regular economy. I’m hesitant to bring up my concerns with her because I feel like they won’t be well received. How should I go about it? I don’t want to end up being an ex-boyfriend TikTok or reel. Haha

Does she make you dress up? If she's a travel model she's not going to draw constant attention to you anyway. And you could make being a minimalist your thing if she does.

All you need to do is not say a lot. If I were you I'd try to come across as nonchalant as I feel comfortable doing. It's always the excitable nutjobs who get taken down and the easygoing ones who people love forever.

For just reading the beginning of this post I’d say plan together days of the week for the page and days for you two exclusively. Her and any serious creator professional and devoted partner will HAVE to separate and distinguish the two. Inclusion is GREAT, but priority, recognition, and distinguishing is even better. It’s nice for anyone

to include their partner and show them their job and how it works, but it’s never okay the other way around of throwing their job on to their partner. That’s her job. Not yours. If you’re going to be her photographer you’re going to need to see some type of FINANCIAL compensation- not sexual, not romantic, not anything else than that. Because a job isn’t a game but a job. 👍

Personally, do I think I could handle it? Probably at the start. If I was featured or they joked with me and included me in their content I’d be able to keep up, but at the same time, after a while, I’d just get overwhelmed with it. I’d also want to respect my privacy a bit.

Maybe try to discuss with her if this is short term and there’s an end in sight, where she will not need your assistance as demand or obligation, and she will not need to be dedicating so much OVER time into her profession.

If not planning days of the week maybe times of day. There has to be an
Understanding and agreement. A cooperation.

The situation can either be you being there for her as her wingman and reaping the rewards with her or enjoying more quality time with her than as before and seeing her bloom to her success

OR

You just being her doormat and she takes advantage and you see no reward or no quality time and no value or respect, nor appreciation, and you just end up being someone that was there in her first this chapter and point in time.

So The only women I relate to are content creators. Specifically artists, developers, cosplayers, writers, musicians, toy makers, craft makers, geek forgers, pettubers, lets play gamers, game reveiewers, collectable reviewers, science tubers, etc.

I'm a content creator, but not one who's a public figure about it, i just make stuff in the privacy of my home, and I'd prefer a wife who is the same type of content creator, not one who is more or less a celebrity type, because thats way too social for me. I also don't travel much, and would prefer a wife who is also a homebody like me.

So yes, definitely, but not the type of content creator you are dating.

I couldn't do it I hate showing off for people, so that would drain me. I would never try dating a CC because people try to dig up dirt on you too and it can get annoying and invasive even if you aren't in the public eye. It's so materialistic and pathetic, I see no value in having my time wasted for content.

I can't stand "influencers". They live their lives for other people. I have people in my class that feel like they have to record every part of their day, even the simplest stuff like using vending machines. I would be extremely turned off and leave the relationship if my girl wanted to do social media work.

A good relationship is one where both can express themselves openly (hopefully in a good way). It concerns me that your don't.
How long are you willing to live life to her standards? It may be that you are fundamentally not well suited and in your position you have the opportunity to have a good think and draw your conclusions. Your comments about tiktok suggest you don't trust her. Alternatively, maybe she can compromise with the social stuff.

Handle? I'd imagine her personality would be repugnant. Most people who do this sort of thing are narcissistic. It's not a matter of whether I could handle, it's why would I want to.

Yep. I can do my own things and she has hers. I don't bother her while she is working and we will have healthy boundaries. I'd say that is perfect.
