Would you let someone write a dating profile for you?

I have a friend that is a veritable wordsmith. He is funny, witty and smartly. I’ve had great success helping people with their profiles. I worked part time as a bookkeeper. When my boss couldn’t find his mistakes, he asked me to look for them. I found them within minutes. When I couldn’t find my mistakes, he found them within minutes. He was a smartly guy who realized that we can’t always see our own mistakes. So that’s why I think it’s important to have someone else write your profile for you. I got a woman engaged in three months, and she was on the same site for about 8 years. Her profile was complete crap.

I had a guy friend on that dating site, and he and I would send links back and forth of crappy profiles. Then he would tell me how to respond, and I’d tell him how to respond.

This was an example of one he sent me: “I’m looking for a wealthy man who is generous with his money, and would like to take me on exotic vacations around the world. I enjoy fine restaurants, dancing and fine wine……”

This is the Gummy reply I told my friend to message her and say:

“I’m not gay, but if things don’t work out with him, give him my number” He sent it. Lol

Anyway, I think my friend would kick my arse in a profile writing competition. But since he’s new to the game, I suggest he start out writing women’s profiles. That’s because his targeted audience speak Martian, just like him.

If you were single, and you wrote that in your profile, you would set yourself light years ahead of the rest of the pack.

As you can see, no women responded to this question. I knew that would be the case, but this was the final litmus test. (before I forget, is that Hemingway in the pic I posted?)

But if you try your hand at this, you can't do it on this site. So this is how I see it...

You tell the wonderful Mrs. Snow that your online pal really thinks your writing skills are top shelf, and she thinks I should help women find love. She said I should write dating profiles for women, because their profiles are beyond stupid. But I told her that I'm happily married, and wouldn't be on a dating site. But this was her suggestion:

"Hey, gang, I just want you to know I met the love of my life, so never give up. I'm no longer looking, and I just want you to know this stuff really does work. My friends say I'm a great writer, but I don't know about that. But I have helped women spruce up their profiles, and they said it got them a lot more hits. I wish you all the best of luck."

I told you about the lady I helped get engaged. This was one of my award winning lines:
"Look, let's not pretend there's not an elephant in the room. I'm not looking for a ring or white picket fence, but all I ask of you is, when you're in the mood for "benefits" could you just get them from me? Is that too much to ask?"

She said she couldn't keep up with the messages she got. And she said it was a different type of guys messaging her. She wondered where they even came from. It wasn't the regular bunch of players. (nothing against players, as long as you are honest about that) It was just a different group.

My pal on this site is his son. lol I've been prodding him to do it, and I think he's getting close. I bet he could crank out an award winning profile in 30 minutes. Why would he do that? Because it's more fun than navigating the "what does it mean" questions on this site. And I've read his stuff, and he can do this in his sleep.

Nah at the end of the day no one knows me as well as I know myself. That aside being a poet/writer and painter im

fair decent at drawing the eye and gripping people if I want.

As a painter you have to use visuals to draw peoples eye to your canvas and paintings use ratios and patterns to make things both visually appealing and draw the eye where they want it to go.

as a writer you do a similar thing with words to draw a person to your work with a intriguing title and grip them with you use of words and story crafting.

And in both you analyze buyers and readers to create something appealing to the masses or unique for niche individuals or a select groups.

People use a mix of both with profiles. Wether they realize it or not.

I'd ask them to give me points asto what to write but then write it myself in my own words and maybe they check it out after in case it comes across not quite right.

I'm very impressed that you're the first woman with the courage to answer this question. The MHO is yours just for that. My guy is as good as gold. He's written speeches for people high up on the food chain, and it brought tears to the eyes of the audience. I'm not saying he would write a profile for you, but if he agreed, it would behoove you to let him write it, and let you edit it. And not the other way around. Let Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart do the writing and composing. I'm trying to get him to start doing this, but he's very happily married, and Mrs. Mozart might take it the wrong way. If he can get her blessing, he could help a lot of women. I've done a few for guys on this site, but they're too afraid to even post a profile. What a waste of my time.

I'm just making a statement that if I can't get a date while having a profile I wrote myself, that as long as they reword it to appeal to people without embellishments or lies that I would let them. I'm not staying that they would be lying.

Guys say they like shopping, dancing, fine dining, wine tasting events, moonlit walks on the beach... etc. What a load of crap. lol

The trick is to be down to Earth and make them smile. So let me fix that sentence above.

"I love to shop, but I just like to stay in the car and play video games. Last time I went in, I got in trouble. The sign never said that only one person was allowed in the changing room at a time. I LOVE dancing. Especially pole dancing. I could watch it for hours. Do you have a pole? I like fine dining, and that's why I bought a really good microwave. I love fine wine, but not the stupid kind with corks. I love walking on the beach, but not at night. Most of the hot babes are gone by then."

They will much prefer that to the syrupy crap the other guys write.

May I use your profile? The last time that I was honest with a woman. She didn’t listen to what I said and got pissed off. I told her I was still hung up on someone else and not to get attached. But she did anyway! She told me that I was the only honest guy she knew!

I don't in any way recommend online dating. But for some, it's their only way. I live in a big city, but some people live in rural areas 70 miles from the city. That means that going to a party or club, means they have to travel 140 miles. Also, some people (like on this site) have zero social skills, and are introverts. Those are the people who could use a little bit of help. They like it, and it makes me feel good helping. I've done it for three guys on this site, but they were too afraid to make the profile. So I would never do it for anyone on this site, but my friend might take a crack at it. But the problem is; he would be best suited to create profiles for women, and the chances of getting any of these frightened mice to reply to anything other than food questions, is minimal.
So if he decides to do it, we're taking it to another site.

It just means being able to talk and listen to people normally, there's nothing special about it to learn.

Bottom line is, in the end of the day, you are going to meet in person nowadays. Just adding an extra layer makes it harder, not easier.
