Was he trying to use me for sex?

Went on a date 2 weeks ago with a guy I was super attracted to. We met at an event. He came and picked me up and planned everything. He took me mini golfing and paid for everything. It was cute and thoughtful. After we went mini golfing, we went to a park and sat in his car. He started being touchy (holding my hand, putting his hand on my leg), which I absolutely didn't mind, and then also ended up asking me to kiss him. I did and it was great. We then went outside to walk in the park and he started making out with me and squeezing my ass really hard and pushing his waist against mine (lol). Anywayssss he then drove me home later, and texted me the next day asking to see me again that night. I told him I was busy because I was at a birthday party, and that we should see each other another day. He never replied. I texted him a few days later just to see what's up. He answered and asked if I was free literally that same night... mind you I sent the text at around 9 PM. His behaviour made me think that he just wanted to sleep with me and didn't see me as someone he would take seriously. Am I wrong for thinking that? I ended up cutting him off because I personally have no interest in a casual sexual relationship, and would like to be taken seriously by someone. Just want to know if I jumped to conclusions too fast. TBH, I had never had a guy make out with me like that on a first date, so I'm just not sure.
