Hmm well from what you've said it kinda sounds like he might be into you too! When you texted him saying you miss him, instead of just saying something casual back he added the "don't be shy" part. That to me says he wants you to not be afraid to tell him how you feel. And then when you DMed just saying "miss ya" and he hearted it, that's usually a good sign! Guys don't usually react like that if they're not feeling a girl at least a little bit. I'd say you should take him up on the "don't be shy" part and flirt with him some more through text. Maybe even ask him if he wants to hang out just you two. The worst that can happen is he says he just wants to be friends, but it sounds like there could be more there. Go for it girl, life's too short not to shoot your shot! Let me know what happens! My bet is he's into you too.
