I have a guy friend I text frequently and in the middle of a convo he’ll say I love you or I miss u, what does that mean?

We been friends for about 3 years, we FaceTime at least once every week and talk for hours , usually until he falls asleep lol, and we hang out from time to time.

Yeah so that means that he has feelings for you. What those feelings are is another story. You can love someone like you would like a sibling or parent. Just like I am sure you have missed family. It may be a feeling like that. It also might be him hinting that he has more than friendly feelings for you. To just come right out and say that unprompted makes me think he has a thing for your or developed strong feelings beyond friendship. Kinda weird to come on that strong. Very blunt.
