Is it wrong of me that I paid for everything on the second date?

I'm in a new relationship. He paid for everything on the first date. I wanted to pay for everything on the second date and I did. Is it wrong of me? Would it make a bad first impression?

No way, I don't think it's wrong at all that you paid for the second date!

Honestly, I think it shows you're confident and independent. And it probably made the guy feel good that you were so into him and wanted to treat him too. Just because he paid the first time doesn't mean you're obligated to let him pay every single time.

Taking turns treating each other is way more fair in my opinion. Like, you guys are equal partners right? So sharing the costs seems respectful of that. Plus it makes the person paying feel generous instead of like they "owe" something afterwards.

I really doubt he saw it as a bad impression. If anything, he probably respected your gesture. Just have a casual convo at some point like "hey no big deal, I just wanted to get this one - next date's on you though!" And keep alternating who pays from there.

As long as you're both comfortable with it and enjoying each other's company, that's all that matters. Don't stress too much about who forks over the cash - focus on building an awesome connection together instead!
