No it’s not a bad thing it’s just showing that you respect them and want to make your relationship equal on both sides which could be confusing sometimes but it makes things seem as if you care about and takes responsibility in your relationship

That's my go-to approach, actually. The first date is organized and paid for by the person who makes the approach. The second is organized and paid for by the other.

I think this is the most balanced way to do things. It guarantees there is interest on both parts, but also protects the invitee from wasting money on the first date if they end up not liking it.

No it isn't wrong of you it's perfectly normal for whoever asked to go on the date pays for everything or you both agree and pay half.
